OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg lawmakers directed City Manager John Pinkerton to seek a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant.
The grant would aid the city in its mission to rehabilitate properties that have fallen into disrepair.
According to the resolution the grant would provide support for low and moderate-income residents to perform housing rehabilitation to eliminate unsafe and unhealthy work conditions.
The $400,000 would be used for rehabilitation of 10 to 12 single-family homes
The city has been successful in obtaining similar grants in the past.
In a separate action, city council also authorized Pinkerton to enter an agreement not to exceed $65,000 with C2AE to perform an evaluation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant capital improvement plan.
Pinkerton said the plan will help the city identify improvements at the plant that will improve efficiencies.
