Ogdensburg school board hires special ed teacher, teaching assistant, winter coaches

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg City School District Board of Education approved the appointments of a special education teacher, teaching assistant and numerous winter coaches along with the retirement of a secondary English teacher at Monday's meeting.

Lisa Sargent was appointed special education teacher at a salary of $55,875.

William Payne was appointed as teaching assistant at a salary of $21,679.

Head coaches appointed at a salary of $5,887 were John Tebo, Boys Varsity Indoor Track; Dianne Jeneault; Girls Varsity Indoor Track; William Mitchell, Varsity Wrestling; Mark Henry, Boys Varsity Basketball, Lynn Blevins, Girls Varsity Basketball; and Jonathan Frederick, Boys Varsity Hockey.

Appointed at a salary of $4,416 were Christopher McRoberts, Boys and Girls Varsity Indoor Track Assistant; Rick Ledwith, Modified and Junior Varsity Wrestling; Scott Sargent, Boys Junior Varsity Basketball; and Matthew Morley, Boys Varsity Hockey Assistant.

Ryan Farrell was appointed Girls Junior Varsity Basketball Coach at a salary of $3,668.

Douglas Farley was appointed Girls 8th Grade Basketball Coach at a salary of $3,237.

Jackie Pinkerton was appointed Varsity Cheerleading Coach at a salary of $3,179.

Brooks Brenno was appointed Boys 7th Grade Modified Basketball Coach at a salary of $2,137.

Justin Casey, Boys 8th Grade Modified Basketball Coach and William Payne, Girls 7th Grade Modified Basketball Coach, were appointed at salaries of $1,752.

Brett Monnat was appointed Intramural Weight Training Coach at a salary of $955.

The board also approved the retirement of longtime secondary English teacher Mary Ellen Martin effective June 30, 2017. Martin has been employed by the district for over 30 years.
