OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg officials are reminding residents that during brush pickup DPW will take yard waste that includes brush, branches, lawn clippings, and leaves only.
Leaves should be in a separate pile, bags or containers are not allowed. Bagged leaves and any other debris will not be picked up.
Yard waste does not include pet waste, construction debris, bags/containers of any kind or anything else not listed as acceptable, officials say. Brush should be placed between the sidewalk and curb, not in the street, at the front of properties. Waste will not be picked up from alleyways. Piles must not block fire hydrants, nor touch poles, bushes, or fences. DPW workers will not pick up debris or yard waste generated by a contractor.
Any questions about allowable yard waste or the new Yard Waste Pick-up Schedule should be directed to the Department of Public Works at 393-2300. More info: www.ogdensburg.org.
