The Northern New York Community Foundation's Youth Philanthropy Councils from Ogdensburg Free Academy and Potsdam Central School recently presented their preliminary recommendations for $20,000 in grants.
The awards will be finalized and announced later this month, according to the Northern New York Community Foundation.
The two councils have met throughout the school year, incorporating studies in philanthropy, community needs, the nonprofit sector, civic engagement and leadership, the NNYCF said.
Annual donors to the Community Foundation including the Sweetgrass Foundation, Grasseroots Fund and Renzi Foodservice Charitable Foundation sponsor the program.
