OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg police are warning residents to use caution as scams continue to be reported in the city.
Police are investigating a possible scam after a Christmas song left on an answering machine followed by someone saying “I will now charge you $1.99 for this phone call.”
Police said the name appearing on the caller ID was Knauf.
Following the call police are advising residents to contact police with any suspicious activity received via telephone, email or standard mail.
“Never give out any personal information such as date of birth, social security numbers, banking account information or credit card information.
Any questions regarding scams should be directed to local law enforcement agencies.
