OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg police have identified Patrick T. Moore, 78, as the man who died following a physical altercation at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center on Dec. 30.
Police are still investigating the incident and are not releasing many details.
Lt. Daniel Mousaw would not say if the death and injuries sustained from the altercation were related.
Moore died at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center on Dec. 31, one day following the altercation at 1 Chimney Drive.
Mousaw did say that the altercation involved only one other person. He said that person has been interviewed by police.
Police opened the investigation early Sunday, Dec. 31, at 3 a.m. after being notified from hospital officials about the death.
Police do not expect the investigation to go on for an extended period of time before their findings are turned over to the St. Lawrence County District’s Attorney Office, Mousaw said.
Mousaw said that Moore had been living at the psychiatric center for quite some time and he did not believe that he was a local person before being admitted to the center.
