OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg police said they charged a man with multiple counts of burglary following a home invasion last Wednesday morning at 426 Washington St.
John C. Tulip, 58 of 24126 State Route 26, Alexandria Bay, was reportedly charged with three counts second-degree burglary, class C felonies.
Ogdensburg police said a young female awoke to someone outside her bedroom door at around 11:08 a.m. on Feb. 4. The subject fled the house, but she gave police officers with a detailed description of the person.
Police said they used the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department’s K9, Hershey, to attempt a track of the suspect from the house.
After interviewing the residents of 426 Washington Street, police say they identified Tulip as the suspect. City police detectives found him at his residence in Jefferson County, where they say evidence was recovered.
Tulip was transported back to the Ogdensburg Police Department. During an interview, detectives say they tied him to previous burglaries at the 426 Washington St. home, as well as a residential burglary on January 16 at 326 Seymour St., officers said.
