Ogdensburg police charge 20 in large scale narcotics bust

OGDENSBURG -- City police charged 20 people, most of them on Wednesday morning, in what they describe as a “coordinated narcotics sweep” involving numerous law enforcement agencies.

The charges stem from a months-long investigation by the Ogdensburg Police Department’s narcotics unit.

“The Ogdensburg Police Department fully expects more arrests, as part of this operation, in the coming days and weeks,” Lt. Daniel Mousaw said in a prepared statement.

Those arrested include:

• Joshua J. Barkley, 25, 244 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Percocet) and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Vicodin), also charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance for allegedly maintaining a residence where people “come or gather for the purposes of engaging in the unlawful sale of controlled substances,” police said.

• Jennifer J. Barkley, 23, 244 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substace (Vicodin)

• Michael S. Thorpe, a.k.a. “Thorpy,” 29, 904 Elizabeth St., Ogdensburg, charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone)

• Makita L. Angel, 20, 154 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone). Further charges against her are pending, police said.

• Patrick J. Peccolo, 29, 154 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone)

• Robert L. Parks, 30, 412 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone) and one count of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Klonopin)

• Sandra L. Pike, 51, 465 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Klonopin)

• Karen M. Cooper, 46, 2237 State Highway 184, Heuvelton, charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Percocet) and one count of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Klonopin)

• Andrew W. Mason Jr., a.k.a. “Buck Mason,” 41, 82A Golf Road, Gouverneur, charged with one count of one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (crack) and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone, Vicodin)

• Barbara J. Lawton, 53, 11 Terrace Park Road, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (morphine), also charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance for allegedly maintaining a residence where people “come or gather for the purposes of engaging in the unlawful sale of controlled substances,” police said.

• Robert D. Leeson, 35, 153 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Nucynta) and one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone), also charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance for allegedly maintaining a premises where people “come or gather for the purposes of engaging in the unlawful sale of controlled substances,” police said.

• Lynn M. Herbick, 48, 422 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone)

• Christopher T. Gordon, 40, 422 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone, Subutex)

• Chad J. Dean, 27, 276 Alder Meadow Road, Schroon Lake, charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone) and one count of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Tramadol)

• Christopher A. Teriele, a.k.a. “Dicky,” 24, 1026 Moreland Road, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (crack)

• Richard P. J. Teriele, a.k.a. “Fez,” 25, 243 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with four counts of of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (crack), one count of possession of a hypodermic instrument, one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (hashish)

• Bobbi Jo L. Teriele, 36, 243 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance

• Meggin E. J. Ashley, 29, 410 Madison Ave., Ogdensburg, charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone)

• Michele M. Keith, 45, 1420 Jay St., Ogdensburg, charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone strips and pills, methadone)

• Derrick J. Bush, 34, no fixed address, charged May 20 with three counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (meth) and one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (crack)

Police said while arresting the Terieles, they noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view, which led to them getting a search warrant. That resulted in the needle and hashish charge against Richard Teriele, police said.

The Ogdensburg Police Department were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the New York State Police, the New York State Police Troop B Narcotics Enforcement Unit, the Gouverneur Police Department, the Potsdam Police Department, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Border Patrol, paramedics from the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, who provided standby at the Ogdensburg Police Department for the operation, and the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office.
