Ogdensburg Parks & Recreation Department offering swimming programs this summer

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Parks & Recreation Department will offer swimming programs this summer.

Swimming lessons will be offered for all skill levels, with certified instructors. The “Red Cross Program” will also be offered. Lessons will be a half hour.

Children ages four to 14 are eligible to participate. Lessons will run Monday through Friday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Lessons will run from July 1 through Aug. 2.

Testing to determine group assignments will be held June 26 through June 28.

Lesson fees will be $25.

The department will also offer an infant/toddler swim program for infants and kids age six month to four years old. Adults will be taught ways to hold the child while acclimating to the pool.

A parent, guardian or babysitter must accompany the child in the water.

Swim times will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to noon July 2 to July 25. The fee will be $12.

An early bird adult swim will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. The fee will be $65 per season or $3 per day.

The parks department will also offer a water aerobics session Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning July 9.

The program will offer passive resistance water exercises and routines for groups or individually.

The program will cost $5 per day or $35 per month.
