OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg will dedicate its newest park in honor of Robert Bjork Aug. 30 at 9 a.m.

The park dedication will mark the completion of the Lake Street Pedestrian Bridge project.

Officials say it is a momentous achievement for the community.

“We are thankful to all who have had contributed to the successful completion of this project,” a news release from the city says.

Bjork Park is being dedicated in memory of Robert R. Bjork who worked to beautify the city through landscaping along the Crescent Hill on the banks of the Oswegatchie.

Officials say the park was a community effort to enhance the areas disturbed by bridge construction that has resulted in a series of beautiful waterfront parks.

“We hope that you will come help us celebrate this achievement and the memory of Mr. Bjork,” the release says.
