OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg city officials say drinking water will be safe, but may taste and smell different as repairs on million-gallon storage vault take place.
The City of Ogdensburg started work this week on its water storage vault.
The project will run approximately four weeks.
During the project duration the city has changed the location where it introduces chemicals required by the New York State Department of Health for safe drinking water.
As a result of this change, officials say it is possible that the esthetic quality of the water, such as taste and smell, can be impacted. Officials say there are no health or safety concerns associated with these esthetic changes.
The officials anticipate this to be a short-term issue that will be cleared up as soon when the repairs are completed.
Questions or concerns can be directed to the City Water Filtration Department at 393-0490.
