OGDENSBURG – City officials are investigating a lighting malfunction on the Maple City Trail, which may not be resolved until spring.

At the Thursday meeting at city hall, councilor William Hosmer raised concerns about the lights being out along the trail.

Recreation Director Matthew Curatolo said he would look into the problem. Today the city issued a notification that the lights were still out on the trail and the problem may not be fixed until the ground thaws.

“After exhausting all other possibilities, it has been determined that there may be a broken wire underground causing the lights to fail,” a release from the city said.

Officials said the Department of Public Works will begin digging up the ground to find the break in the spring when the ground has thawed.

Further details were not provided.
