OGDENSBURG -- The New York Conference of Mayors and Ogdensburg City Council on Monday honored several city employees for decades of service.

Mayor Wayne Ashley congratulated five employees for their long careers with the city.

Among those honored were Robert Grady, who has severed on the city police force for 30 years.

Ashley, a retired officer himself, was Grady’s training officer.

Department of Public Works employees Jackie Amo and David Hollis were recognized for 25 and 30 years of employment respectively.

DPW worker George Kennedy, who was present at the meeting, also received a certificate of appreciation for 30 years of employment.

Ashley said he was proud of city staff, and offered thanks for all of their hard work.

That sentiment was echoed by other members of the council as well.
