OGDENSBURG -- An Ogdensburg man was arrested Wednesday following the discovery of a one-pot methamphetamine lab at 107 Cherry St., according to the Ogdensburg Police Department.

John H. Gagnon III, 38, was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, felony, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both misdemeanors, police said.

The Ogdensburg Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 107 Cherry St. April 15 and investigators allegedly found components of methamphetamine production in the home. At the time of the search warrant execution, Gagnon, the owner, was not home.

Acting on a tip, police reportedly found Gagnon in an apartment at Centennial Towers, Ogdensburg, and taken into custody.

A street sign belonging to the city was reportedly found in Gagnon’s home, which led to the stolen property charges.

He was held in city lockup pending arraignment in Ogdensburg City Court today, police said.

The Narcotics Enforcement Unit was assisted in the search warrant by members of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, consisting of members of the sheriff’s department, as well as Gouverneur Police Department.
