OGDENSBURG – An Ogdensburg man faces a host of charges after allegedly resisting police before being shocked into compliance near the Twin Bridges store.
He was charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstruction of a governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operation.
He was also charged on a bench warrant.
Police patrols encountered Bjork in the area of the Twin Bridges Store at 40 Main St. Bjork, then fled the scene on foot in an attempt to avoid apprehension, police said.
Police pursued Bjork on foot and at that time the advanced taser was deployed to gain compliance and to make the arrest.
During a search, Bjork was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, police said.
A search warrant was then executed on the vehicle that Bjork had been observed in and material consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine was recovered.
Ogdensburg police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and state police.
Further charges and arrests are possible, police said.
