OSWEGATCHIE -- A 44-year-old Ogdensburg man is jailed without bail for allegedly beating and intimidating a witness.
Gregory J. GIlbert is charged with a felony count of third-degree intimidating a witness or victim and a misdemeanor count of third-degree assault.
Troopers said Gilbert punched a 33-year-old male in the face at 626 Lovejoy Rd. in Oswegatchie on Sept. 20.
Police said the allegedly victim sought treatment at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and learned he had broken bones and possible nerve damage.
Troopers said after several attempts to track him down, they found GIlbert in the woods near his residence.
He was arraigned in Morristown Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton without bail, according to troopers. He is to re-appear on a later date.
