CLIFTON -- An Ogdensburg man was arrested for second-degree rape Tuesday following a complaint that was filed with state police June 1.
Timothy A. Mills, 46, was charged at 10:30 a.m. with two counts of second-degree rape: victim under age 15, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree unlawful dealing with a child: alcohol, troopers said.
The charges stem from incidents that occurred at a camp on Tooley Pond Road in Cranberry Lake on May 31 and June 1 where he allegedly gave alcohol to a 14-year-old female and then had sexual intercourse with her, officer said.
Mills was arraigned in Fowler Town Court.
He is to appear in court again Sept. 3, officers said.
The original version of this story quoted a state police press release indicating Mills was sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail. However, officials at the jail said he was not booked in. Mills also told NorthCountryNow.com he was not jailed.
