CANTON — An Ogdensburg man was charged with promoting prison contraband while he was an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Michael D. Wells, 30, was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The alleged incident was reported Oct. 18 and Wells was arrested Nov. 6.
Wells was in possession of suboxone, deputies said.
He was arraigned in Canton court by Judge Monroe and ordered held on $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
