CANTON — An Ogdensburg man injured a St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputy after he allegedly attempted to escape from police custody while awaiting felony arraignment for assaulting another inmate, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bryon Pibble, Knox Street, was charged with second-degree assault, felony, first-degree attempted escape, felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, officers said.
The incident took place at Canton court.
Pribble reportedly attempted to escape by assaulting a deputy. The officer sustained minor injuries and there was damage done to village property.
Pribble was restrained and taken back into custody, officers said.
He was being arraigned for allegedly assaulting an inmate at St. Lawrence County Jail June 24, deputies said.
He was charged with second-degree assault stemming from that incident, officers said.
Pribble was ordered held on $25,000 bail.
