HEUVELTON -- An Ogdensburg man is facing several charges after damaging someone's car in the Heuvelton Central School parking lot on Friday, accoridng to St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies.
John E. Thompson Jr., 50, of 795 Irish Settlement Rd. is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. He was also cited with second-degree harassment, a violation.
A statement from the Sheriff's Office says Thompson allegedly "harassed another person and recklessly caused damage to a vehicle in the presence of a child less than 17 years old." The statement does not identify the alleged victim or say what sparked the alleged incident.
Thompson was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and released on his own recognizance to re-appear on a later date. The alleged victim was placed under an order of protection.
Thompson could face up to one year in county jail, if convicted.
