OGDENSBURG -- An Ogdensburg resident is charged with a felony for allegedly damaging a city park by driving his pickup truck through it.
On Feb. 1 at 11:43 p.m., Ogdensburg City Police Patrolman Michael Durham observed a pick-up truck being operated on the lawn and causing damage in Morrisette Park, according to investigators.
He stopped the truck and charged Austin J. Haney 21, of Ogdensburg with a city code violation of driving a motor vehicle on a grassy area. He was then released, police said.
After completing the investigation, Haney was arrested on Feb. 3 at 12:43 a.m. and charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal mischief for damage caused in the park, police said.
Haney was released on an appearance ticket returnable in Ogdensburg City Court on Feb. 25 at 9 a.m.
He was also issued a no trespass order barring him from use of City of Ogdensburg recreational facilities, police said.
