OSWEGATCHIE -- An Ogdensburg man admitted to smoking crack before driving a vehicle with a two-year old child in the back seat on Tuesday on State Highway 68, according to state police.
Tyo admitted to troopers that he had been smoking crack prior to the traffic stop.
He was found in possession of metal pipes containing crack and marijuana residue, about .5 grams of marijuana, a syringe and two metal spoons containing suboxone.
A drug recognition expert completed an evaluation of Tyo and he was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center where a blood sample was obtained to test for drugs and alcohol.
Tyo was charged with Leandra’s Law aggravated DWI: child in vehicle, DWAI: combined drugs/alcohol and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 2:30 p.m.
Tyo was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and controlled substance in non-original container.
He was arraigned in Oswegatchie court and released under the supervision of probation, troopers said.
