OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg law firm Carlisle Carrothers & Clough, P.C. recently offered support for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric center by donning SAVE SLPC T-shirts.

The firm also donated $1,000 to the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Task Force to assist in the efforts to demonstrate to New York State the importance of fair access to mental health services in all parts of the State.

The current New York State Office of Mental Health plan removes inpatient care from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center. “We appreciate this kind of financial support from the local business community," SLPC Task Force Chairman Charles Kelly said.

"This is a grass roots effort and despite the remarkable response we are getting from throughout all of Northern New York, we are still fighting a David vs. Goliath battle and getting our message out is going to take time and money. But understand this, if the State thought they could they could quietly force the North Country to accept second class status with this plan, they are greatly mistaken.”
