Ogdensburg Key Club takes nine awards at state leadership training conference

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Free Academy Key Club won nine awards at the New York Leadership Training Conference over the weekend for its extensive youth and community service programs.

"The Ogdensburg Key Club has a distinguished history as one of the top student led community service programs in the nation," said Kiwanis Advisor James Reagen. "We're pleased to see them continue their long standing tradition of excellence."

Faculty Advisor Christine Frank said the Ogdensburg Key Club's members worked hundreds of hours over the course of the year to earn top honors.

The OFA Key Club is sponsored by the Ogdensburg Kiwanis Club.

Key Club officers include President Annalise Dutch, Vice President Mara Pelusi, Secretary Aidan Putman, Treasurer Tessa Richards and Webmaster Jordan Snyder.

The awards included:

• The Ogdensburg Club tied with six others as Diamond Level Clubs for having the best student service programs in New York State.

• First Place in the Bronze Division Single Service for its park clean up program at Kids Kingdom Playground, the Cross Country Ski Trail and Ford Monument.

• Second Place Major Emphasis for the Talent Shows and Lip Synch shows and other programs helping young people.

• Second Place Kiwanis Relations.for its joint projects with the Ogdensburg Kiwanis, Builders and K-Kids Clubs

• Second Place Video Award by Jordan Snyder.

• Treasurer Tessa Richards received an Early Bird Dues Award

• Secretary Aidan Putman received a Perfect Paperwork Award

• Jordan Snyder received a Distinguished Webmaster Award

• The club also received a Convention Membership Attendance Award

The club is advised by Kiwanis Advisor James Reagen and Christina Frank.

Key Club members will be assisting Kiwanis on Saturday at the annual Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Northwest Tech BOCES. Tickets are $7.
