OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center joins the Association of Clinical Documentation Specialists to celebrate the work of our clinical documentation improvement (CDI) experts during National Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists Week, Sept. 18 to 22.
Claxton-Hepburn’s two CDI specialists, Amber Greer, and Jennifer Wright decipher complex medical records and communication between a variety of licensed healthcare providers across multiple disciplines to ensure the information included in a patient’s record accurately captures the care provided by the physician and hospital.
Michael Beldock, director of Case Management at Claxton-Hepburn, said, “A lot has changed in healthcare; from the advent of quality initiatives to CDI’s expansion into other settings such as outpatient to the evolution of clinical validation reviews.
It seems that every day offers a new set of challenges and adventures for our CDI staff.” He continued, “Please extend a big thank you, with all of us in Case Management, to both Amber Greer and Jennifer Wright for their work in this ever-expanding field.”
