An Ogdensburg man was part of the winning team at a recent Northern New York Bassmasters tournament, with Heuvelton and Gouverneur residents following in second and fourth place.

The Northern New York Bassmasters held the second tournament of the season recently on Lake Ontario’s Chaumont Bay.

The winning team of Dick Garlock, Alex Bay, and Robert Marceau, Ogdensburg, beat the club’s top bag ever weighed in with a whopping five smallmouth bass limit with 23.25 pounds.

Heuvelton residents Chuck Roach and Chris Roach placed second with a weigh in of 19.85 pounds.

Doug Kirkbride and James Moore weighed in at 18.99 pounds, placing fourth.

Tim O'Grady of Ogdensburg captured the “lunker” of the day with a 5.37-pound smallmouth bass.

The current team standings leave Chris Roach and Chuck Roach in first place, with O’Grady and his partner Steve Garrabrant in second.

The next tournament will be Sunday, July 7 on Black Lake.
