CANTON – An Ogdensburg man was jailed without bail Tuesday for allegedly possessing heroin while he was an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Justin W. Jones, 30, was charged with first-degree possession of dangerous prison contraband, felony and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The incident was first reported to deputies on Oct. 30.
Jones was arraigned in Canton Town Court and returned to St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.
He will answer the charges at a later date, officers said.
