OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg has received a clean audit from Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper, Van House & Co.
At presentation Monday a representative of the firm praised the city staff and delivered news that no issues warranting corrective action were uncovered.
“No new accounting policies were adopted and the application of existing policies was not changed during the year ended Dec. 31, 2016. We noted no transactions entered into by the city during the year for which there is a lack of authoritative guidance or consensus. All significant transactions have been recognized in the financial statements in the proper period,” the audit report said.
Auditors reported no significant difficulties dealing with management in performing the audit. Some misstatements were identified during the audit, but were “clearly trivial” according to the report. “Management has corrected all such misstatements,” the report says.
