OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Garden Club wants to honor city residents with what club members consider to be outstanding lawns and gardens.

Anyone in Ogdensburg can enter a competition they are hosting.

A committee of club members will do the judging and view from curbside only.

They will consider neatness, attractive blends of blooms and improvement to the display’s respective area.

There will be four categories: residential, business (within a mile of the city), non-profits and good neighbor, which means someone who tends property that isn’t theirs, such as a neighbor or public building.

Each winner will receive a wood maple leaf.

People can nominate themselves or someone else.

They can be mailed to Theresa Bruyere, 811 Hamilton St., Ogdensburg, NY 13669 or phoned to 393-0450.

Entries should include the nominee’s name, address, category and a phone number.
