OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Garden Club held its Standard Flower Show at the Dobisky Visitors' Center on Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20. The show featured 25 exhibits by adult members and 13 exhibits by Youth Garden Club members.
This year's Top Honor for Design Excellence and the Designers Choice Award, chosen by the judges, went to Nancy Skiff for her interpretation of Shoreline.
Doris Whitehead won the award in memory of Norbert and Irma Markert, which is given to a member who exemplifies the club's mission statement of being a long-time member who is generous in exchanging knowledge and experience to mutually educate other members and is willing to participate and chair club events.
The following were winners in the Design Categories:
Section A
Class 1, Making Memories: 1. Micah Cardinal; 2. Ann Groome; 3. Barbara Agarwal; honorable mention: Luanne Herzog.
Class 2, Shoreline: 1. Nancy Skiff; 2. Barbara Agarwal; 3. Sarah Gilmour; honorable mention: Bob Purser.
Class 3, Sunrise/Sunset: 1. Doris Whitehead; 2. Therese Bruyere; 3. Nancy Skiff; honorable mention: Darlene Liscum.
Section B
Class 4, White Caps: 1. Lori Recker; 2. Marita Helfen-Looney; 3. Doris Whitehead; honorable mention: Nancy Skiff.
Class 5, Ship Wreck: 1. Lin Griffin; 2. Mickey Snye; 3. Martha Valley; honorable mention: Alexis Michael.
Class 6, Floating By: 1. Ann McWilliams; 2. Sally Moore; 3. Darlene Liscum; honorable mention: Micah Cardinal.

Many ribbons were also awarded in the Horticultural Division.
The Ogdensburg Garden Club was founded in 1925 and has 34 members and 43 Friends of the Garden Club.
