OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Fire Department responded to 38 fires in 2017, just three more than the previous year, according to the annual report.
The fires included 23 residential incidents, three commercial fires, four vehicle fires and eight fires outside the city.
The department provided mutual aid to other departments on three occasions.
Firefighters also responded to 1,042 emergency medical service calls, 104 hazardous conditions, 560 service calls and 108 false alarms.
Additionally the department performed 147 home inspections, which is down from 221 in 2016.
In 2016 firefighters responded to 35 fires, 1,158 EMS calls, 82 hazardous conditions, 598 service calls and 111 false alarms.
Ogdensburg Fire Department has 29 members including the chief.
