OGDENSBURG – Verizon Wirless spokesman John O'Malley says Ogdensburg customers should have cell service by 1 p.m.
He said the installation of a new 4G antenna required a tower shutdown. He said antenna upgrades are typically performed at night to limit problems for customers, however the owner of the property that houses the tower could not be reached during the evening hours.
O'Malley said service should be restored by 1 p.m.
Several Verizon Wireless customers in Ogdensburg said cell phone service was interrupted on the Western side of the city.
Employees at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center said they have also received questions regarding the service outage.
