OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg will pay the Development Authority of the North Country $100,000 in addition to its existing contracts for a service agreement related to Wastewater Capital Improvement Project.
A resolution passed by council Monday allows City Manager Sarah Purdy to enter $100,000 agreement with DANC to provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions services, commonly referred to as SCADA.
SCADA systems allow for real-time analysis of data and monitoring at the WWTP. It also records and logs all events into a digital format.
SCADA also warn when conditions become hazardous by sounding alarms.
A prior agreement with the city included overseeing SCADA services, but no such systems were available at the plant. This agreement will include purchase, installing and of the implementation of the system.
The agreement includes $5,000 for reviewing design specifications and drawings, consulting with the engineer and attending design reviews.
About $40,000 will go toward the purchase, configuration and installation of a SCADA server with online UPS backup, as well as purchase and installation of other software.
The remaining $55,000 will go toward providing technical services, control engineering and programming, designing of a graphic interface and other tools for the system.
The cost will be included as part of the $39 million WWTP capital improvement project.
