OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Education Association hosted a free dinner for the Ogdensburg community which included an online safety presentation and book giveaway.

The theme was “Digital Citizenship.”

Over 120 people of all ages were in attendance to share a meal cooked by the Knights. Trooper Robert Marciniak and educational technology specialist Bob Ladouceur gave speeches about staying safe online.

The OEA also gave away brand new books through First Book, a NYSUT (New York State United Teachers) endorsed program where teachers in Title I districts receive new books at low to no cost for their students, and through a donation from local teacher Tracie Kroeger.

The association is a union of teachers, counselors, psychologists, librarians and nurses from the Ogdensburg City School District. They plan more free dinners throughout the year, each with a different theme.
