OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Education Association (OEA) hosted a free dinner for the community March 15, at the Ogdensburg Knights of Columbus banquet hall.
More than 150 people, of all ages, attended to share a turkey dinner prepared by the Knights.
Dessert was provided by Price Chopper and the drinks were courtesy of the Pepsi Cola Bottlers.
This was the third such event that the OEA has hosted.
The theme for this dinner was “Family Game Night.” Attendees were invited to play board games provided by the OEA, through a grant from The People Project.
The OEA gave away brand new books through First Book, a NYSUT (New York State United Teachers) endorsed program where teachers, in eligible districts, receive new books at low to no cost for their students.
Additionally, tote bags and water bottles were free for all who attended.
Due to the success of these events, the OEA is planning another community dinner this May.
