OGDENSBURG -- As extreme low temperatures sweep the county, Ogdensburg Department of Public Works is reminding residents to protect their water pipes.
"Check all windows and basement walls for drafts that could allow cold air into an area where your water lines are located. Insulate lines where possible, especially lines that are located in unheated areas," a release from the DPW says.
"If you have had problems in the past with your water freezing, you might want to let one faucet furthest from you water entrance in your home or business to run slowly."
Anyone with questions should call the Department of Public Works at 393-2300 or 393-2010.
