OGDENSBURG -- The office of Chiropractor Dr. Michele Vondra-Harwood has added iridologist Sylvia Montroy to its staff.
Iridology is a form of alternative medicine whose practitioners say they can draw conclusions about a patient's health based on patterns in the iris.
Iridology was started in the 1800s by a surgeon in Europe. The goal is to minimize suffering and maximize health, advocates say.
Montroy uses digital photography and magnifies the pictures with a computer to make her recommendations.
The office is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to – 4 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office is located at 609 Canton St. and the phone number 393-1018.
