OGDENSBURG -- With hopes of keeping Ogdensburg City Council more involved in ongoing projects City Planner Andrea Smith is hoping to establish project liaisons.
At the Monday council meeting Smith said the council has several ongoing projects including the Fort Association Visitor Interpretation Center, Planning Board Zoning Revision, Lank Banks, New York Sea Grant, Maple City Rail Trail Extension.
Smith said there is no requirement for council to appoint liaisons, but said doing so will help keep the council informed with development and oversight.
She said councilors Timothy Davis and Jennifer Stevenson have served as unofficial liaisons for the massive wastewater treatment plant project. Stevenson said their involvement has been helpful.
“It’s an opportunity for you to participate in the development of these projects with staff, community members and state and federal agencies,” she said.
The council did not make any appointments Monday, but will likely revisit the issue at a future council meeting.
