OGDENSBURG -- The Coast Guard’s Ogdensburg Auxiliary recently held a “Change of Watch” ceremony at The Place.
All levels of the auxiliary, including the flotilla, division, district and national, hold a formal change of watch ceremony each year to swear in the elected officials for the following year.
The auxiliary is an all volunteer organization that assists the Coast Guard with water safety tasks.
The auxiliary teaches boating safety classes, does vessel safety checks unrelated to law enforcement, and does “on the water” safety patrols.
From left, Nancy Rudiger receives the Coast Guard Team Meritorious Award from Commodore Rovert Laurer for her work on the Regional Symposium Team.
