OGDENSBURG – The Ogdensburg City School District recently unveiled a new website intended to be more compatible across a variety of mobile devices and tablets while also improving the overall user experience.
District webmaster Rachel Atkins said that a primary goal of the new design was to allow users clear and convenient access to an individualized website for the school of their choosing.
“The district now has four interconnected websites to allow for parents to better access to information about their child’s school with a calendar of upcoming events. Parents can save their child’s school to their browser, so it comes up every time they access the site,” Atkins said.
Atkins also stressed the importance compatibility played in the new site design.
“Our new site is more compatible with mobile devices and tablets and conforms to any device the user has,” she said.
Mobile users also have the option to view the desktop version of the site with a single click.
Although much of the site has already been overhauled, the project remains ongoing with some sections of the site still under construction.
“The main departments, including the health department, library department and athletic department for each school have been completed. Additional departments, such as the art department, music department and computer lab resources will continue to be developed over the summer and into the fall,” Atkins said.
