OGDENSBURG -- City police are seeking tips from the public to help them crack two home invasion cases.

On Monday, around 5:21 p.m., the Ogdensburg Police Department responded to an apartment at 728 Franklin St. for a report of a home invasion and robbery. Police say that two males "forcefully entered the apartment and removed property."

On Tuesday around 5:58 a.m., police responded to 704 State St. for a report of another home invasion and robbery. Police say two male subjects "forcefully entered the residence and removed property."

"The incidents are being thoroughly investigated by the Ogdensburg Police Department at this time, and all leads and information are being followed up on," Det. Daniel Mousaw said in a news release. "At this time, we are certainly investigating whether the two incidents are related, and as further information is developed and can be released, we will provide that information to the media."

Police say the investigation so far indicates that these were not random acts, and the general public is not at risk.

Investigators ask anyone with information regarding either of these incidents to contact their Criminal Investigations Unit at (315) 393-1555.

The Ogdensburg Police Department has been assisted by the New York State Police in these cases.
