OGDENSBURG -- The City of Ogdensburg has been notified that a company called HomeServe will be sending a mailing offering water line and sewer line insurance to Ogdensburg property owners.
City government would like citizens to know it is not affiliated and does not endorse any company selling this type of insurance.
“We would like to encourage owners to ensure that they take the time to thoroughly read and understand any solicitation, insurance or otherwise, prior to committing to purchase,” City Manager John Pinkerton said in a press release.
Property owners are responsible for the cost of replacing these lateral lines from the main line to their home per the Ogdensburg Municipal Code, Chapter 177, Sewers, Sections 177.16, 177.22, and 177.26 and Chapter 215, Water, Sections 215.2.1, 215.5, and 215.19.
You can view the OMC online at www.ogdensburg.org.
If you have any questions regarding replacement of the lateral water and sewer lines, you can contact Department of Public Works Director Scott Thornhill 393-2300.
