OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg City Council will honor recently retired Ogdensburg Journal Sports Editor David Shea for his 43 years of service today at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Ogdensburg City Manager John Pinkerton said the city will hold a special meeting to honor Shea, the county’s prominent local sports reporter, who has won many awards from local school districts.
“Dave has been a true professional. He is a passionate citizen who put his heart and soul into the job,” he said. “He has been a tremendous supporter of the community and all of the North Country. He will be missed as the sports editor for the Ogdensburg Journal and Advanced News.”
Mayor William Nelson is expected to read a proclamation to establish Tuesday April 7, as Dave Shea appreciation day.
