OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce lighting competition culminated in a bus tour and a final vote Monday, Dec. 17.

Chamber board members, along with several members of the community, boarded a bus and drove through the Ogdensburg area to view and judge holiday lighting displays.

Both Laidlaw Education Service and St. Lawrence NYSARC volunteered buses for the tour.

In the Holiday Spirit category first place went to Jack Downing, Elizabeth Street, who won a $100 courtesy of St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union. Second place went to Tom and Jo-Ellen Murray, McIntyre Road, who $25, donated by Big Cheese Pizza.

In the Traditional category, first place went to Brittany Bush and Jake Putney of Lafayette St., who won $100 donated by North Country Savings Bank. Second place went to the Kiah family of Franklin Street, who won $25 donated by Peebles.

In the religious category Riverview Towers of Washington St. took first place, winning $100 courtesy of the First Baptist Church. Second place went to Larry Tombolillo of State Street, who won $25 donated by Ed-Med Credit Union.

The People’s Choice Award, voted on by members of the community, went to Christine and Steven Fisher of Franklin Street and Don Perry of Moreland Road. The Fisher family and Perry received $50 each, donated by the Phillips Diner.
