OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce will name Thomas E. Hannan Sr. as its 2015 Citizen of the Year.
“Hannan has been active in many community organizations over the years -- Ogdensburg Lions Club, the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, Bishop Conroy, Knights of Columbus -- just to name a few,” the chamber said.
The Business Improvement Award for 2015 is awarded to John Wade and Carlos Lopez at the Sherman Inn Bed and Breakfast.
“[Wade and Lopez] have worked hard to renovate the former Sherman School into a beautiful bed and breakfast – putting this building to good use and back on the city tax rolls,” the chamber said. “They have been active in the community – joining organizations and opening their doors to groups for special events, as well.”
The Outstanding Community Service Award for 2015 will go to St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union.
“The St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union supports many community events and organizations – both financially and through their volunteer service,” the chamber said.
The recipients will be honored at the chamber’s annual dinner on Friday, Nov.r 13 at the Gran-View Restaurant. Tickets are $40.
