OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce is reminding potential members of the benefits of membership.

Benefits include access to health care insurance; participation in the Chambers Dollars program, a “shop local” campaign savings of up to 50 percent on bulk mailing; business listing on the chamber website; referrals from personal visits, phone, email or fax inquiries; display of business brochures, business cards and flyers in the chamber office; access to mailing lists to increase business contacts; sponsorship opportunities for chamber events or publications for marketing; discount prescription card; and group discounts for AAA membership.

The chamber devotes time and effort to business advocacy, enhancing community spirit, and promoting tourism and the City of Ogdensburg. The chamber attends seminars and trade shows and has published 15,000 travel guides which have been distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Associate/Family Memberships have been re-vamped. An Associate Membership ($20) and Family Memberships ($30) now include a 10 percent discount in the chamber store, The Crescent; free admission to two chamber events by showing a membership card at the door; and your name listed in the on-line membership directory on the chamber website.

A Vendor Membership is $30 per year and includes “Members First” invitations to annual events with a discounted vendor fee; free beverages at events; assistance with unloading and loading at events (when available); a listing on the chamber website; display of brochures and business cards in the chamber office and access to weekly member e-blasts.

Each year, the chamber sponsors the annual Polar Bear Plunge, North Country Wine and Food Festival, community wide garage sales, Car-B-Que, NYS BASS Tournament, Ogtoberfest, annual dinner; and the Thanksgiving craft show. Events typically draw between 500 and 1,500 visitors.
