NEW ORLEANS -- Representatives of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority have been showcasing the city's port at the BreakBulk Americas Exposition in New Orleans this week.
BreakBulk Americas is the largest gathering of companies involved in the shipping of heavy-lift project cargo and traditional bulk cargoes, according to OBPA Executive Director Wade Davis. It is where shippers meet with the leading specialized carriers, ports, and terminals who have the expertise to handle unique cargoes, he said.
“Promoting the region at Breakbulk has generated several new sales leads for the Port which when successful will generate jobs,” said Davis.
“Numerous shippers, brokers, and transportation firms are all located in one setting. We look forward to promoting the Port of Ogdensburg,” said OBPA Director of Commercial and Industrial Development John Rishe.
The event has drawn over 4,000 participants and 280 international exhibitors.
