OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Director Thomas Luckie Jr. says the organization is close to its goal of raising $90,000 at this year’s Expo.
Warm weather worked in the event’s favor as last weekend's temperatures rose into the 50s.
“Final numbers are not in yet but we are going to be close to our goal of $120,000 gross. We are hoping to make it to a $90,000 net,” he said.
Luckie said between 5,000 and 6,000 people attended the event.
The event is the organizations largest fundraiser of the year. It feature dozens of exhibits and displays of boats, autos, trucks, local businesses and crafters.
Local bands and dancers also perform each year at the Expo.
All proceeds benefit the club, which provides recreational opportunities for kids.
This is the 40th year of the Expo, which has long been one of the city’s largest events of the year.
