Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad member Charles Abel, Zontian Elaine Bellinger, and OVRS Chief Ken Gardner were on hand for a baked goods delivery from the Zontarians.

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Area Zonta club recently baked and delivered cookies to various area agencies in support of its annual “Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women” campaign.

Baked good thank you's were delivered to many who help victims of gender-based violence including Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Ogdensburg Fire Department (First Responders), Ogdensburg Police Department, New York State Troopers, CHMC Emergency Department, and CHMC Wellness Center.

In addition the club has two digital signs which promote the campaign, one on the movie theater marquis and one at the airport entrance. These signs promote Zonta’s mission and provide the 24-hour help line at Renewal House in Canton 315-379-9845.

Many Zonta members, friends and city hall are supporting the club’s efforts by lighting up windows with orange bulbs, said a press release from the organization.
