OGDENSBURG -- Amvets Post 19 Auxiliary is winding up their $1,000 award for a veteran.
It was won by Mr. and Mrs Jeff Mooney who will soon be getting a new back porch.
The auxiliary is already off on their next effort, “A Pet for a Vet.”
The holiday season can be very lonely for some people so they want to match up a pet with a vet who might not be able to afford one. They hope will be a pet chosen from a local shelter, but any pet will be considered.
If you know of a vet who would like a pet companion, send a letter to Amvets #19 Auxiliary, c/o Americanism Officer, Charlene Romano, 215 Ford St. Ogdensburg, New York, 13669.
